Jim Oakley Adventures (JOA) -
1. Payment -
Verbal/Email bookings will only be confirmed on receipt of full payment or a 50% deposit. Full payment is due 6 weeks prior to your activity date.
A non refundable fee of £130 is taken once payment is made
All payments are made by BACS system through internet banking.
2. Charges for changes in booking
Cancellation or curtailment due to injury or illness should be covered by your insurance.
Various cancellation charges are as follows:
(one must remember that outdoor instructors are sometimes booked up 6-8 months ahead, so if you cancel with days to spare we have to still pay some £'s to that instructor)
a) Within 96hrs (4 days) If you lower the numbers of your booking then you will loose 50% of the total cost of the non attendee's
For example: A group of 10 climbers decide to lower their numbers three days before to only 7 persons attending. They will get back only 30% of those three that failed to attend.
b) If you cancel a booking within 2 weeks you will loose 70% of that bookings total cost.
c) If you cancel between 2-4 weeks you loose 50% of that bookings total cost.
d) Cancel over four weeks away you get a refund of 90%.
If we cancel an activity all monies will be refunded or you may choose alternate dates.
3. If we cancel or make changes
In the event of us having to cancel the activity due to weather an alternative date or activity will offered. JOA will not be liable for any loss, damage or expense resulting from force majeure or any unforeseen circumstances outside of their control e.g. inclement weather or change of venue for safety purposes
4. Insurance & Safety
JOA has full public liability insurance. It is the nature of adventure activities that there will always be some degree of risk. Our insurance does not cover you for inherent risks or client negligence. Whilst not mandatory you may wish to arrange your own personal injury insurance.
For your own safety it is imperative that you abide by the decisions of instructors. We reserve the right and discretion to make changes to planned routes and venues as a result of adverse or impending conditions.
